Cheap Furniture
With the rising cost of furniture today if you do not have very much expendable capital then you may believe your only option is to look for cheap furniture. While this is a great short term solution the main problem is that if you just look for the cheapest furniture then it usually will be inferior quality and will not last very long not to mention how it looks. There are other alternatives and getting quality furniture at a cheap price is not the same thing as buying cheap furniture.
You may well be tempted to buy furniture in discount stores. When I say discount stores I mean the ones that have poor quality furniture and will offer you free tables or chairs if you buy there product. Obviously these stores can be useful for smaller items like lamps and other interior design products but when it comes to your main furniture which is used every day you need to be sure it will wear well and this will not be the case in these stores. You may get a very cheap sofa for instance but it will not be so cheap when you have to buy another one six months or a year later.

A much better option is to visit a local furniture store in your area. A furniture dealer with a good reputation may well be more expensive for the latest furniture line but these kind of stores will always have special deals on especially on product that may be end of line. The furniture may not be the latest but it is still quality furniture and at a discount price which is much better than just getting inferior furniture at a cheap price. I just bought a lovely wood coffee table as well as a couple of end tables for less than a hundred bucks. The quality is great and they were exactly what I wanted and the only thing cheap furniture wise was the price.
There are down sides to shopping in your local store for discount furniture like being 'assaulted' by commission hungry sales people looking to get you to buy the latest furniture with the biggest mark up. You just have to be strong and insist they direct you to the clearance or discount furniture area. you will probably find that they leave you alone after this! The beauty of these areas is that they will contain out of production furniture or even previously reserved products that were never collected and are taking up their valuable space. This furniture will be good quality but still at as good a price as any of the other cheap furniture stores.
Another option is to look at buying second hand furniture. Obviously I would never suggest buying a bed, mattress or maybe even living room furniture second hand but you can get some great wood furniture like tables, drawers and wardrobes at a great price and yet again can be much better quality than other cheap furniture. A great place to look for second hand furniture is your local paper, classifieds or if you have the internet craigslist.
