Choosing The Perfect Patio Outdoor Furniture For Your Garden
When it comes to choosing patio outdoor furniture, you would be forgiven for being overwhelmed by the sheer number of styles, colors and materials available to choose from. In order to get the best from your purchase, there are a number of things you need to consider before buying.
Fix A Budget
Before you start shopping for your outdoor patio furniture, you should decide how much money you want to spend. This may influence what kind of materials your patio outdoor furniture can be made from. It’s always worth looking for discounts and end of line deals as these can enable you to get more for your money.
How Much Space Do You Have?
Patios come in all shapes and sizes so it’s important to make sure you buy the right outdoor patio furniture to fit the space you have available. Make sure you allow for the chairs to be pushed back as people leave the table, and if you would like to buy reclining chairs bear in mind these will need extra space.
You also need to consider any pots or troughs you already have in place on your patio. Although these can be moved to accommodate new patio outdoor furniture you should still make sure they won’t be knocked or damaged by the new additions.
Another point that is often overlooked when buying new outdoor patio furniture is the size of the parasol. If you have a small patio area that is bordered by lawn or flower beds on at least two sides then this isn’t so much of a problem, but if it’s enclosed on three sides you will need to consider the diameter of the parasol to ensure it will fit without touching the walls or fences on either side.
How Much Time Do You Have?
This may seem like an odd question, but some items of outdoor patio furniture need to be treated and cared for during their life – especially in the case of wood. If you know you won’t have the time (or perhaps the inclination) to regularly stain and protect the wood, you at least need to make sure you have a dry place in which you can store the items during wet and cold weather. If you don’t your furniture could be quickly ruined.
Finally if your furniture comes with cushions, remember to take these in every night - however good the weather is. A quick and brief rain shower during the night could be all it takes to ruin them, so keep them safe and they’ll last for ages.
