Spy Cams Just For Fun

June 13th, 2008 · No Comments

The spy camera, called spy cam for short, is a new product becoming very popular and being used worldwide now. Spy cams are often employed for security, safety, or surveillance, but can often be used for other purposes. The spy cam is just a miniature camera mounted or set up so it is not noticeable.

The technology of spy cams is highly diverse. Some spy cams available now are just like small batteries and others can be concealed in a pen. Some special shops offer various spy cameras which are multipurpose for the buyer to use as needed. The prices for spy cams range from fifty dollars for older models sold second hand, to several thousands for the latest technology which includes a monitor as well as other accessories.

It is believed that the spy cam explosion began with the famous words of Allen Hunt who said: “Smile, you’re on candid camera.” The followers of the TV program Candid Camera were part of those who first realized that spy cams could be used for more than security and surveillance purposes. People began to see the potential of this technology. Sad to say, some problems also arose as spy cams were used more and more. Some people questioned if spy cameras are really friends or foes. People do value their privacy, and who indeed likes the idea of others watching you through hidden cameras in your private moments, then being broadcast on the internet just like that! Perhaps they are really not just harmless fun, as other people see these cams.

Whatever their purpose, spy cams are now widely used by many industries which include private detectives, security services, limo services, and also parents who are concerned with their children or senior citizens. These cameras are also utilized by many employers to keep track of goings-on in the workplace, for more efficient and safer working conditions.
